Appraisal Methodology

How every vehicle is graded

Each appraisal states a condition rating on the recognized six-point scale, so insurers, attorneys, and courts read the same language you do.

  • #1

    Excellent

Concours. Preserved or restored to the highest standards of authenticity and quality.

  • #2

    Fine

Well preserved, original components intact, excellent mechanically and cosmetically.

  • #3

    Very Good

Well maintained with minor cosmetic or mechanical imperfections.

  • #4

    Good

Above-average for its age; presentable, functional, minor flaws.

  • #5

    Fair

Wear consistent with age; may need attention or repair.

  • #6

    Poor

Requires significant restoration; a project candidate.

Every report is grounded in auction results, market databases, retail evidence, the I-VAN network database, and consultation with fellow professional appraisers, museums, and marque experts when needed.

A Written Guarantee of Independence

"I have no financial interest or ownership in any firm engaged in the sale, insurance, or transport of motorized vehicles, nor in any firm engaged in repair or restoration work. Therefore, I have no actual or potential conflict of interest in providing this appraisal."
